Image Flipper
Flip horizontally or vertically
What is Image Flipper?
Mirror an image horizontally, vertically, or both. Flipping horizontally creates a natural-looking left-right mirror, handy for fixing selfie cameras that show the world backwards, or for design variations. Vertical flips are less common but useful for reflection effects. The output keeps the original image quality and format.
How do I use Image Flipper?
- Drop an image onto the upload zone.
- Toggle "Flip horizontally" for a left-right mirror, or "Flip vertically" for a top-bottom mirror.
- Click Download to save the flipped image.
When should I use Image Flipper?
Use Image Flipper for mirror effects. If you want to rotate by a number of degrees instead, use Image Rotator. Flipping and rotating are different operations — rotation preserves handedness; flipping does not.
What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
Flipping mirrors the image across an axis (left-right or top-bottom) and reverses handedness — text becomes unreadable. Rotating turns the image around its centre and keeps handedness.
Can I flip both axes at once?
Yes. Toggle both "Flip horizontally" and "Flip vertically" to mirror the image along both axes — which is equivalent to a 180° rotation.
Does flipping change the file format?
No. The output keeps the original format (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG, WebP stays WebP).
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device, and there is no server component for this tool.
