PDF Merge

Combine multiple PDFs

4.6· 95 votes
A PDF merger combines two or more PDF files into a single ordered document, preserving each source page exactly. StuHub merges files client-side using pdf-lib, so your documents are never uploaded. Handles up to 100 MB per file with no limit on how many you can combine.
Your file never leaves this browser. Everything runs on your device — no uploads, no server storage, no retention. How it works →
Drop PDFs to merge
Any number of PDFs · up to 100 MB each · drag to reorder
All merging happens in your browser — PDFs never leave your device. Encrypted PDFs are accepted but won't preserve their protection in the merged output.

What is PDF Merge?

Combine any number of PDFs into a single document, in the order you choose. Useful when you have receipts, scans, bank statements, or chapters as separate files and need one clean PDF to upload or attach. Handles PDFs up to 100 MB each, preserves page content and layout exactly, and runs entirely in your browser so no file ever leaves your device.

How do I use PDF Merge?

  1. Drop multiple PDFs onto the upload zone, or click to browse.
  2. Reorder the files with the ↑ and ↓ buttons until the sequence is right.
  3. Click Merge PDFs.
  4. Click Download to save the combined PDF.

Common use cases for PDF Merge

  • Combining a cover letter, CV, and portfolio into one application PDF.
  • Merging three invoices into a single proof-of-purchase document.
  • Assembling chapters from separate PDFs into one bound e-book.
  • Stapling together scanned receipts for a monthly expense report.
  • Joining a signed contract with its annexes into a single archive file.

Common pitfalls and how to avoid them

  • Bookmarks disappear after mergepdf-lib does not carry document-level bookmarks across. If bookmarks are critical, merge with a desktop PDF editor (Acrobat, PDF Expert) or add fresh bookmarks after merging.
  • Form fields stop workingInteractive form fields are dropped during merge. Flatten forms before merging (a PDF print-to-PDF loop works) or re-add the fields after.
  • File order is wrongDrag the items in the list to reorder before hitting Merge — the output follows the visible order.

When should I use PDF Merge?

PDF Merge is the right tool when you want one continuous document. If instead you want to break a PDF into smaller files, use PDF Split. To pull out specific pages and discard the rest, use PDF Extract Pages.

Frequently asked
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

No practical limit beyond your device memory. We have merged 50+ files in a single operation during testing. Each file can be up to 100 MB.

Will the merge preserve bookmarks and form fields?

Page content, layout, and fonts are preserved. Document-level bookmarks and interactive form fields are dropped because pdf-lib does not copy them; for those, a desktop PDF editor is a better fit.

Can I reorder the PDFs before merging?

Yes — drag to reorder, or use the ↑ / ↓ buttons on each item. The final PDF follows the order in the list.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device, and there is no server component for this tool.
