Password Remover
Remove PDF passwords
Password Remover is on the roadmap. In the meantime, explore the other pdf tools.
What is Password Remover?
Remove the password from a PDF you can already open — useful for re-saving a personal copy of a tax document or contract that was encrypted by the sender, so you can read it on devices that struggle with password-protected files. The tool only works if you know and provide the current password; it does not crack or bypass unknown passwords.
How do I use Password Remover?
- Drop a password-protected PDF onto the upload zone.
- Enter the current password.
- Click Decrypt.
- Click Download to save the unprotected PDF.
When should I use Password Remover?
Password Remover requires you to know the password. To add a password instead, use Password Protector. To extract specific pages from a protected PDF, decrypt first, then use Page Extractor or PDF Split.
Does it work on PDFs whose password I do not know?
No. The tool only works when you can already open the PDF and provide its password — it does not crack or bypass unknown passwords.
Are there cases where decryption is not possible?
PDFs protected with "owner-only" restrictions (no user password but a permissions password) require the owner password to remove restrictions. User-password-only PDFs decrypt fully with the password you have.
Will the unprotected PDF look the same?
Yes — only the encryption layer is removed. Page content, layout, fonts, and metadata are byte-accurate.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device, and there is no server component for this tool.
